I live in Inverell with my wife Carol and began my Art career at the National Art School in Sydney from the years 1969 to 1973 along with a Diploma in Art (Ed.) from Alexander Mackie CAE also in Sydney.
I spent 10 years as a secondary Art Teacher at Macintyre High School Inverell and Gosford High School.
During this period I was quite active in painting and won at the October Exhibition at Inverell in 1976 along with a very successful two man Exhibition at Inverell Art Gallery the following year.
My specialty since those early days has become Oil painting of the landscape both in the Studio and Plein Air
My way of painting has been described as atmospheric, realist and related to the light of a particular time of day and the effects of that light.
I also have a strong feeling for the effects of wind on water. My works are from small at 30 x 40cm to large up to about 1800 x 1200cm.
I have recently also been painting with Acrylic again.
I also paint a series of large Abstract pieces on occasions when abstract is the best way to express what I wish to put into paint.
As to my career back in the 70’s and early 80’s I was a gallery artist for North West Gallery as it was then at Centennial Park/Paddington until it’s closure.
We returned to Inverell to live and I began painting again and involved with the Inverell Art Society, with a win again in 1996.
In 2002 moved with our Business to Armidale and now back at Inverell since October 2014.
